About Maui Media

Maui Media is an Orlando Florida based boutique design firm that specializes in custom, personalized web development and support for small to medium sized businesses and organizations.

Why Maui?

We confess we're not based on that wonderful island, but like most folks, we'd love to be! We are located in the second best location in our opinion, sunny central Florida, about 150 yards from the beautiful wild and scenic Wekiva River. Apart from the occasional tropical system in the summer, we think this is a pretty great place to live and work.

Actually, the "Maui" part of our business name comes from the nickname given to founder Donna Maukonen, when her friends found the tongue twister "Maukonen" a bit too hard to pronounce. It stuck, it was cool, and it became our business name.

About Donna Maukonen

Founder and sole proprietor of Maui Media, Donna Maukonen has a background in both design and in computer technologies. Her early career was in the financial and non-profit industries where she worked in information services and database analysis. She continued her education in multimedia design with an emphasis on internet design and development. Donna continued her career as a graphic designer and content producer in the interactive division of Cox Enterprises. While there she maintained several key content areas of www.icflorida.com and sites for media partners including www.wftv.com, www.k92fm.com, and www.wmmo.com. In addition she created online advertising for clients such as Universal Studios, Florida Nursing Careers, WFTV Buddy Check, and Sea World Orlando.

Donna founded her own business in professional design and development in 2001. Since then she has acquired clients in a variety of industries and provides professional, personal service with effective online solutions.
